Mr. Slack joined Forward Ventures in 2015 to assist in portfolio development and new projects. With over 20 years’ experience, Mr. Slack has a track record of innovation in business development, fundraising in senior management roles at public & private biotech as well as large pharma companies. His deal-making experience exceeds $1 billion in transactions and encompasses major corporate partnerships, spin-outs, start-ups and financings. Since 2004, at DS LifeScience Consulting, Mr. Slack has provided corporate development, partnering and investment advisory services to range of organizations. Under his consulting relationship with Novimmune, Mr. Slack headed corporate and business development functions, was responsible for $67 million private financing. In 2007, Mr. Slack co-founded Kinagen, a drug discovery and development company, where he served as President, CEO, and Chairman. Prior to DS LifeScience, Mr. Slack served as Vice President for Business Development at Isis Pharmaceuticals, where he was responsible for several major partnerships. Mr. Slack received an MBA from the Monterey Institute for International Studies in 1993, and received both Psychology and Molecular Biology degrees from California State University.
